9. Will taxes be withheld from the payment?

Settlement Payments are not considered wages so no taxes will be withheld for wage purposes.

Exception: Workers with a payment over $2,000.00 without a Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number on file with DoorDash may be asked to provide the Settlement Administrator with a completed IRS Form W-9. You may enter a Social Security Number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number on Form W-9. If you choose not to do this, the Settlement Administrator may withhold 24% of the total and pay the rest to you. More information about backup withholding is on the IRS website.

Free help with understanding any possible tax responsibilities for the payment is available through NYC Free Tax Prep, visit www.nyc.gov/TaxPrep .

10. If I owe child support, can that be withheld from the payment?

Legal Rights

11. What does an Eligible Worker give up by accepting the payment?

When you accept this payment—either by receiving it electronically or by cashing or depositing your settlement check—you agree to the Settlement between DCWP and DoorDash, Inc. as set forth in the Consent Order (DCWP Adjudication No.9458-2026-ADJC).

This also means you cannot sue DoorDash, including its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, assigns, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives, about the violations covered by this settlement if they occurred between April 22, 2022, and June 28, 2026. This applies to claims under New York City Administrative Code §§ 20-1522 and 20-1523.

12. How does an Eligible Worker opt out?

If you do not wish to accept the settlement terms and release your claims, you can choose not to receive the payment. You do not need to submit anything. Simply do not select an electronic payment method and do not cash or deposit your settlement check.
